Jeff Costello

Jeff has performed throughout New England and the east coast for twenty years, some of the bands and/or artists he has worked with include: The Union Street Band, Mistress, Mountain Jam, Wildheart, Larry Mitchell, Al Alessi, Big Joe Burrell, Joe Leone, After hours, and has worked with Tom-T- Bone Wolk in the band Acidbran. Jeff also teaches percussion at Retromusic in Keene.

Musical influences are varied, at a young age he was hearing Motown , the Beatles, early rocker stuff like the Vanilla Fudge, moving on to Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Yes, King Crimson, ELP, then discovering Jazz Fusion in the seventies. All this diversity has had aheavy impact on his own style bringing a mix of funk, rock , blues, swing and soul to the kit at every performance.

Jeff's equipment includes Yamaha maple custom drums, Sonor drums, some custom prototype drums and a variety of snares. Triggering is also an option at shows for enhancement or effects. Cymbals of choice Are Paiste. Also a custom "drumatar" is sometimes used for smaller venues or duo gigs.

Jeff currently is playing with renowned singer Al Alessi doing some 200 shows and still active in Acidbran on Birdcage Records. Now in full writing mode with Chameleon he hopes to have a more vigorous role in playing funk and jazz. for more info: heffe@top.monad.net
